Future Matters. Not Present.

Above is the scenario for car manufacturer Tesla’s investors.

Tesla with market capitalization of approximately $180bn bagged the 1st position, pushing Toyota on 2nd position that has a market cap of $173bn.

Tesla's Journey - Against All Odds
● Tesla is nowhere as large and as stable as Toyota or Ford.
● Toyota is still ahead with $210.5bn capitalization, if treasury shares are included, whereas, Tesla is around $190bn capitalization.
● 1st quarter saw Tesla produce mere 1,03,000 cars i.e. 4% of 2.4 million produced by Toyota.

All the above reasons are enough for a company to fall, when it is already hit by the worst pandemic of all time.

Still, Tesla surged as investors are of forward looking approach. They are optimistic regarding company's future.

Note - Nikola Motor Company also took Ford Motor Company with $34bn valuation.

Will Tesla be able to overtake companies on paper as well? Not now, I think.
