PIR Sensor Arduino Alarm

This week i looked up a bunch of different cool projects on the internet that could be made with an Arduino kit. one that i found interesting was an alarm that was made with a PIR sensor and an Arduino. The PIR is a sensor that detects heat, or infrared lights. it is sort of like a motion sensor except it can only tell when something in front of it just got warmer or colder, which would be perfect for an alarm system because living creature give off heat. What i find interesting about the way the PIR works is that it does not give off any energy, it merely just detects energy and sends a signal from the same energy it detected back to the Arduino kit. I think what makes this device successful is that it is very useful in everyday life. Everyone always has something or somewhere that needs protection and this opens up a ton of possibilities for alarm or anti-theft systems that could benefit humanity. Even in the very slim chance of a zombie apocalypse, you can have a good night sleep knowing that something is watching your back while your are at your most vulnerable state.
