These Birthdays Keep Racking Up — and I Love It!

I received a birthday card from the Urgent Care center this morning and that makes me reflect on a number of things. I’m Getting Old. Praise God. Each day, I see so many people who have fallen by the wayside. It’s disheartening because many of them, not all of them, but many are my age and older. That tells me I am in zone.

We are all in zone, “For no man knoweth the day or the hour, no, not the Angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Matthew 24:36–44).

This says to me, watch out for that school bus. Keep your eyes on that 18-wheeler. Don’t be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Stay home at night and even with those precautions, nothing — no man, nor woman, can escape the fate that awaits him or her. Therefore, y’all gone and keep the party rolling.

Basically, I’m saying stop waiting. We all have tons of plans that we are waiting to execute. Stop waiting. Did you want to buy that boat? (Or in my case, just keep chartering them), but don’t wait.

In the Netflix’ series “Breaking Bad,” Don Hector is restricted to a wheelchair, dribbling out the side of his mouth, and he has a bell affixed to the handle of his chair that substitutes for how he communicates. There are no jet skis in his future. No, just bumpy roads and a cold, wet sheet due to his own bodily releases. And he’s a lucky one.

Some perish laying near the curb. Sometimes at the hands of others. Sometimes, by circumstance. So, since we don’t know the time or place, what the heck are you waiting for?

If you haven’t started living, now would be a great time. Stop putting stuff off. If you aren’t living the life you envisioned, make preparations to get there.
