Have you ever said these words to yourself?

I used to be my own worst enemy, constantly second-guessing or scolding myself for saying something stupid or not saying anything at all. I was too scared and failed to go after what I wanted because I felt I wasn’t talented or strong enough.

Everywhere we look, motivational images, quotes, and daily affirmations are created to inspire us to do better, think better, and be better. But without understanding how to use them, they are simply words on an attractive background.

It took me many years to appreciate the value of positive affirmations and to implement them into my own life. Now, my outlook is completely turned around, and you, too, can discover how mere words can change your perspective.

Affirmations are defined as an acknowledgment that something is true. They can be both positive and negative and have the power to dictate behaviors.

· I am too old to change. It’s how I have always been.

· It never works out like it’s supposed to.

When we operate from a negative mindset, we are already expecting failure. We have established what we expect to happen, and this causes us to put forth little effort since we already believe something won’t work. This thinking is often a conditioned response based on past trauma or actions.
