How To Achieve Complete Freedom by Becoming Disciplined

It is not going to be easy

Many people might consider being disciplined the opposite of freedom, but that’s completely false.

We as human beings are deeply influenced by our internal states, whether it is hunger, sadness, or curiosity, our mind is constantly bombarded by a drive to do something, influencing our free will.

Discipline can be your key to achieving mind over matter because being disciplined means working towards your objectives regardless of the circumstances.

It can be a terrible day rainy day, where are crippled by sadness, and a lack of motivation, but you will still show up and do what needs to be done.

This doesn't need to be a forced process, rather it can simply be a consequence of being properly oriented in life. We are naturally drawn towards becoming disciplining if our objectives are meaningful enough.

So what’s the first step to becoming disciplined?

When I think about a disciplined person, someone like David Goggins comes into my mind.

David Goggins is a navy seal considered by many the Toughest Man on Earth and among the world’s best ultra-endurance athletes. He has competed in more than 60 endurance rances and even placed 3rd at the Badwater 135 Death Valley, considered the world’s thoughtest foot race. He also regularly made it into the top five in other ultramarathons.

He also held the Guinness World Record for the most pull-ups done in 24 hours completing 4,030 in 17 hours.

He is a man that pushes his mind and body to the other limit.

But this is not who he always was. He started out living in trauma with an abusive father, and that led him on a path of fear, embracing his comfort zone and being very insecure.

He was very close to becoming obese, working a job that implied spraying for cockroaches, drinking a milkshake to calm his nerves after a hard day a work when he saw a commercial for navy seal recruitment.

He looked in admiration at humans that were training fiercely to become part of one of America’s elite military units
