Medium Bonus!

Thank you, my readers. Thank you, Medium.

As I woke up on the 7th of May and was getting ready for my presentation at university, a random thought popped in my head to check my e-mails. When I opened the app, all the emails seem ordinary except one.

One mail was as follows:

At first, I could not believe it for a few minutes.

I had many questions including; How? When? Where? Who?

But when I came to my senses, I remembered that last month I had the goal of focusing on Medium more than I ever did before, and I worked on writing an article every day, and sometimes two.

This change in my efforts resulted in a change in the results at the end of the month. I had more engagement, more claps, and earned more money than I ever did before.

So I think that was the reason why Medium wanted to include me in the 1000 people that they were giving the bonus.

But I must say I’m so so so thankful and have been jumping up and down ever since I’ve opened that e-mail.

It is not only for financial reasons but also as someone who has been writing for over 2 years here, I feel incredibly grateful to see recognition and progress.

I also would like to add that your work is still recognized and appreciated whether you were given the bonus or not. But I simply cannot wait for all the other talented writers to wake up to a similar kind of e-mail in the following months and so hoping Medium will continue with this.

Congratulations to all the other writers who were also chosen for this surprise.
